Whitebred Shorthorn Spring Sale 2017

The annual spring sale of registered Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle on behalf of members of the Whitebred Shorthorn Association was held at Carlisle on Friday 24th February 2017 where the leading price was 4,700gns for the bull Hottbank Lancer from JRF Pattinson & Son. Sired by Blackburn Marshall he was purchased by M, ME, TR & KM Wallace from Hexham.

The days Male and Supreme Champion sold for the next leading price tag at 4,400gns. Shown by Gordon Jackson the homebred entry, Blackburn Jethro a son of Barlaes Welcome and out of a Lochdochart Nemo bred mother, he was purchased by JRF Pattinson to join his Hottbank herd based near Hexham.

Females topped at 3,000gns for the in-calf heifer Ballyvaddy Weigela by Longley Talisman and out of Hole of Lyne Weigela 2nd. Consigned by Northern Ireland based JT & K Madden. She was purchased by MG & J Taylor from the Isle of Arran.

Averages - 5 bulls 2772.00, 3 females 1872.50.
