Harrison & Hetherington Ltd conducted the spring sale of Registered Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle on behalf of members of the Whitebred Shorthorn Association on Friday 26th February 2010 when 6 bulls were forward.

Parton Vintage

The top price of the sale, 2,600gns was paid for the second prize bull, Parton Vintage, a January 2008 bull, sired by Broadleyfold Craig, bred by Messrs Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. Writing this cheque was Ardnaw Farms Ltd, Achanoish, Lochgilphead, Argyll.

From the same home, Parton Prestigious, born April 2008 realised 2,400gns and travels to Penderyn, near Aberdare in Mid Glamorgan with Messrs Davies.

Blackburn Ace

The pre sale show was judged by Mr Gordon Kyle, Spout Bank, Walton, Brampton who awarded the Championship to Blackburn Ace, a January 2008 bull bred and exhibited by Gordon Jackson, Blackburn, Newcastleton. Sired by Milnholm Scott, this bull was knocked down at 2,500gns to John Higgs Farms, Arkleton, Ewes, Langholm.

At 1,200gns, Corrie Granite, a June 2008 bull sired by Corrie Reiver from Keith Laurie, Snowdon Close, Gilsland, Brampton travels over the water to Ballymena, Co Antrim with Mr J McCurdy.
