On Friday 6th November 2009, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd conducted the autumn sale of Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle on behalf of members of the Whitebred Shorthorn Association with 5 bulls and 2 females forward for sale.

Blackburn Marshall

The judge, John Clark, Bent Ash Farm, Eaglesfield, Cockermouth awarded the Supreme Championship to Blackburn Marshall, a March 2008 bull bred and exhibited by Gordon Jackson, Blackburn, Newcastleton. Sired by Milnholm Scott, this bull went on to secure a bid of 4,800gns and was purchased by JRF Pattinson, Hotbank, Bardon Mill, Hexham.

Barlaes Gladiator

The Reserve Champion Rosette was collected by Barlaes Gladiator, a March 2008 bull from Messrs R & M Fergusson, Barlaes, Dalry, Castle Douglas. Sired by Raeburnfoot Talisman, this bull was knocked down at 3,400gns, writing this cheque, Messrs Moore, Softley, Slaggyford, Carlisle.

The Fergusson's then went on to purchase High Creoch Fanfare, a March 2008 bull from Messrs Gilligan, High Creoch, Gatehouse of Fleet for 1,000gns.

The Champion Female, Barlaes White Heather 9th was sold at 800gns and travels home with new breeder Ann Malcolm Hardhillock Farm, Maryculter, Aberdeen.
