Harrison & Hetherington Ltd conducted the spring sale of Whitebred Shorthorn Bulls and Females on behalf of members of the Whitebred Shorthorn Association on Friday 27th February 2009 when 7 bulls and 1 female were forward.

Champion - Parton Degree

The pre sale show was judged by Mr Graham Noble, West Acres, Kirklinton, Carlisle who awarded the Championship to Parton Degree, a March 2007 bull bred and exhibited by Messrs Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. Sired by Broadleyfold Craig, this bull was knocked down at 2000gns and travels to his new home with Messrs J Savery & Son, Lincombe, Totnes, Devon.

John Story, Crookburn, Bailey, Newcastleton paid 1,700gns for Hole-of-Lyne Trevor, a September 2007, bull bred and exhibited by Messrs R & D Telford, Hole of Lyne, Roadhead.

The Reserve Champion Parton Quartz, a December 2006 bull was also bred and exhibited by Messrs Hewson. Again sired by Broadleyfold Craig, this bull realised 1,500gns, writing this cheque, Mr CW McAllister, Sliddery, Isle of Arran.

The only female in the sale came from Messrs R & J Wilson, Gibshiel, Tarset, Hexham, Winkwell Fleur a 12 months old heifer sired by Milnholm Scott sold at 450gns to Mr TJ Robinson, Ottercops, Kirkwhelpington.
