Harrison & Hetherington Ltd conducted the spring sale of Whitebred Shorthorn Bulls and Females on behalf of members of the Whitebred Shorthorn Association on Friday 29th February 2008.

The pre sale show was judged by Mr Trevor Wallace, Farney Shield, Ninebanks, Hexham, who awarded the Championship to Parton Boss a February 2006 bull bred and exhibited by Messrs Hewson, Burgh Head Farm, Burgh By Sands, Carlisle. Sired by the homebred bull Parton Legacy, this bull was knocked down at 3,000gns to A Murray & Sons, Sewingshields, Haydon Bridge, Hexham.

The Reserve Champion Bloch Basil, a June 2006 bull was bred and exhibited by Messrs Bell, Bloch, Langholm. Sired by Murtholm Parky, this bull realised 2,000gns, writing this cheque, Messrs Reddaway, Restland Farm, Sampford Courtenay, Devon.

The only female entered in the sale came from Messrs G & K Gilligan, High Creoch, Gatehouse of Fleet, High Creoch Rose 5th sired by Blackburn Joe created great interest and was finally sold at 800gns to Mr Stanley, Ponsonby Old Hall, Seascale, Cumbria.
