Harrison & Hetherington Ltd conducted the autumn
sale of Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle on behalf of members
of the Whitebred Shorthorn
Association
with a catalogued
entry of 7 Bulls and 5 Females.
The judge, John Whitfield, Byers Hall, Lambley, Brampton
awarded the Championship to Parton Landmark a December
2002
bull
bred and exhibited
by Messrs
Hewson, Parton Farm, Wigton. Sired by Park William with
the dam side going back to Murtholm Premier, this bull
went on to secure a bid of 1,600 gns. and was purchased
by the judge.
The Reserve Championship was awarded to Blackburn Jethro, a May 2003 bull
bred and exhibited by D Jackson & Sons, Blackburn, Newcastleton,
sired by Raeburnfoot Talisman this bull went on to realise 3,500 gns. Writing

Third prize bull Barlaes Monarch also a May 2003 bull from R & M Fergusson,
Barlaes, Dalry, Castle Douglas realised 1,200 gns and goes south with Mr W
H Willcocks,

Farm,
Harford, Ivybridge, South Devon.
Parton Milestone a December 2002 bull from the same home as the Champion left
the ring unsold, but was sold later to Mr A Taylor, Newland Farm, Exford, Minehead,
Somerset.
In the female section High Creoch Rose 2nd with her heifer calf at foot Blackburn
Rosemary, exhibited by D Jackson & Sons, Blackburn, Newcastleton, sold
at 1,200gns and travels to Argyll with Mr D Anderson, Barnakill Farm, Lochgilphead.
