Harrison & Hetherington at their Newcastleton Mart held their annual two day sale of Blue Grey heifers and steers on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th October 2004.

On the 1st day there were 721 suckled heifer calves and bulling heifers forward attracting a tremendous gathering of both regular and new buyers who had travelled the length of the country from Skye to Cornwall for this well established breed.

On one of the few fine autumn days the animals looked in great condition, and buyers bid freely for quality animals.

Suckled heifers 12 months and above £580

Overall average £464 (plus £9.21)

On the second day Blue Grey bullocks sold very well to a massive ring of buyers.
