years by forwarding the registration certificate
to the Association where upon a refund of £5
will be made. |
RULES OF THE ASSOCIATION
1. The Council of Management shall
not be less than 10 or more than 40, elected from members.
2. The quorum of the above Council shall not
be less than 7.
3. The annual subscription shall be £10 per member
per annum. Each member on joining the Association shall undertake
to pay the annual subscription falling due on January 1st by
Bankers Order. All the benefits both personal and relative
to stock, may cease forthwith should the subscription not be
fully paid by the end of the first quarter of the year.
4. The accounts of the Association to be audited
annually prior to the annual general meeting by Accountants
appointed at the annual meeting.
5. All disputes to be settled by the Council whose
decision is to be final and binding.
6. All fully paid up members to be entitled to the
Association's publications free of charge.
7. The Council shall from time to time elect a Chairman
and a Vice Chairman, and may determine for what period
each is to hold office.
8. A request by one tenth of the Members may call
an extra-ordinary Meeting of the Association by giving
written notice to the Secretary and Chairman.
9. If a calf is sired by a bull not in the Member's
Herd, this must be stated on the Entry Form at the time of
Registration.
10. A Herd prefix to be allotted by
each breeder, and the same will be inserted in the Association's
publications.
11. Any member found to break the Association's Rules
shall be liable to disqualification.
12. Transfer of ownership to be notified to the Secretary
and the appropriate fee of £10 per male, £5 per female,
to be paid, except at the Association's recognised sales which
continue to be free.
13. All entries when lodged become the property of the
Council and are received subject to the decision of the Council
to whom is reserved the right to investigate, amend or alter,
and to publish the original entry. No pedigree lodged with
the Council can hereafter be altered by the entrant
or other person, except by the written authority of the Council.
OBJECTS OF
THE ASSOCIATION
1. To encourage, promote and improve
the breeding of Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle of the type
which produces bulls suitable for crossing with Galloway
Cows to breed good Blue Grey Cattle and for crossing
with other breeds to produce excellent Suckler
Cows.
2. To compile, keep, maintain, edit, issue
and publish a Herd Book of recognised pure-bred
Whitebred Shorthorn Cattle, and a register
or registers supplementary thereto of other recognised
and qualified cattle for breeding purposes.
3. To promote, organise, manage and
hold or participate in the promotion, organisation,
management and holding of shows and auctions
and other sales of pedigree Whitebred Shorthorn
Cattle and other cattle, and to arrange or
assist in the arrangement of classes of cattle
at any such shows as aforesaid, and to provide,
present, subscribe to or otherwise promote
or aid and support the provision and augmentation
or prizes to be awarded at any such shows as
aforesaid and to recommend and appoint suitable
persons to act as judges thereat, and also
to pay or make contributions towards the payment
of expenses incurred by all or any of the exhibitors
in or about the exhibition of cattle at any
such show as aforesaid which may be approved
for this purpose by the Association.
4. The above objects of the Association to be
carried out by the Council of Management elected from
members of the Association as prescribed by the Articles
of the Association. |
