The Chairman Adrian Wheelwright (Longley
herd) and Andrew Hewson (Parton herd) organised and manned
a stand for us at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show held
at Stoneleigh on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September
2009.
They reported the demonstration to be one of
the most successful held in recent times with
a great deal of interest being shown in the breed.
The
two bulls Broadleyfold Craig and Longley Hallmark
3rd were a great attraction. Many visitors said
they had never seen a Whitebred Shorthorn bull
before. Dairy farmers who had given up dairying
were very interested as they were looking for
bulls to mate with the cattle they had retained.
The event gave an opportunity to further the
associations program of education
as to just what a Whitebred Shorthorn is.
